Sitting straight is bad for the backs. Test results revealed that the 135° position or the laid back position was the best for the backs. Spinal disc movement was found more pronounced when sitting upright and desk slouchers are at high risk to wear and tear to spinal disc.

Might i add, one can try to sleep without pillows lying flat on the back on the bed as this helps re align the spine. I dont think anyone is used to sleeping this way, but you could practice this at least 5mins before you drift off to sleep. If lying on your back is not comfortble, try bending the legs abit. I used to sleep without pillows few years back with the belief that it facilitate our blood circulation. But I'm reverting to sleep with pillow becoz' I feel more comfortable that way. Getting out of my "comfort zone" was just too much for me. But then maybe I should give it another try with bending the legs ... thanks Danura
