Oh Just Another Monday ....

My last post was Monday ... a week apart to be exact ... that was damned fast ... I was practically sidelined with flu last week and on the road to recovery. Hopefully it's over by this week. Unfortunately, the other family members are slowly getting into the same cycle. Well, we'll get over it soon and I'm sure we'll.

The current bad weather spell that persists will be a done thing pretty soon. But I heard that the El NiƱo will follow soon and learnt that it's going to be hotter than the last occurence in 1998. Just wait and see ... bush fires, hazes, PSI index, masks, to name a few will be the common keywords by then ...

The Feeeling Is Goooood

Today's my day off and spending my time in my room with lil' kid so diligently preoccupied with her daily doses of cartoon networks is just another refreshing feeling anyway ... there's life outside the office so don't get stuck up like that tonnes of works that will never go away :).

Kuntilanak The Movie

Finally got to see this one tho' I wasn't scared to death anyway ... otherwise it's still worthwhile to see. I jokingly said to my 4 years old kid that it's movie on "Barney" ...ha.ha.. was just pulling her legs ... well she knew all along what the movie is all about and deserved the credit anyway for lasting that 2 hours screen time ... btw her hands are really helpful during those times .. he.he..

A Day With Dilbert Comic Strip

I find this one pretty amusing but elect not to elaborate any further ... it reminds me of poor "Jeff Ooi" ... freedom of speech .. my foot .... ooops ... peace brother ....

Apple iPhone

A definite must have .... smartphone, iPod, WiFi, bluetooth, touch screen (no need for stylus which is good since I keep losing em'), ambient light sensor, proximity sensor (display off when it's lifted to ear), widgets, .... it's not 3G tho' .... but it's in my wishlist ...hu .hu..

Sheer Coincidence ...

Some common similarities spotted by sheer chance. Just look at the stripes and that innocent big eyes. The real cat was imported from Australia at a whopping > $1k apiece and my sis' is temporarily caretaking both (two of them) on her fren's behalf.

Belait District Inundated With H2O

Has been quite a while since we experience flood of this scale. Luckily I bring along my rain boot :). I think the high tide which concides with the heavy rain is compounding the "watery" situation.

First Look @ Lewek Conqueror

I managed to get hold of some pixs during my stays at the work barge years ago. This one was taken during her anchor/move activities when she was mooring up next to the platform to commence the construction activities. To get her into position and dropping anchors took almost the whole daylight ... slow and painful process he.he..

The bunk beds for two is infact the 2nd best option available on board. Last year I was damned lucky to get the reserved and very limited single bed room since there's no more beds to spare :) ... good foods, free laundry service to name a few but outside it's all sea water ... next assignment will be April this year.

Close Encounter

Interesting blog which is written in Bahasa Indonesia http://www.sisi-lain.blogspot.com/. What's more striking is the blogger's life accounts of the marine world which I'm closely associated with as well. I was googling for construction barge technical specs and inadvertently stumbled across this blog piece. Sheer coincidence I must say ...

I've been to Lewek Conqueror many times since its 1st inception to provide offshore construction services which was hired by local contractor SKSWood back then. I'm pretty sure it's not easy really in the shoes of these marine crews who spend big chunks of their weeks in and out offshore. Good money but limited recreational life is a norm but life has to go on.

I presume I must have brushed shoulders with this blogger for all that I can remember during my short stays at the barge. So little is yet spared for the slightest figment of imaginations .... but it brings a very lasting lifetime impression ...

Kids Back To School ... whoaaaa ....

I'm sure it was hardly a blink for some and yet before you even realised it, the long school holidays are over and done for good at least for a while now. So as usual "abnormal" traffics will be the key feature for tomorrow but gosh ... lucky me becoz' I won't be driving the kids to school. I'll be in the office by the time people are hitting the roads with frenzy. I just can imagine those people who are unfortunate or rather destined to be caught day in day out with heavy traffics even during normal days. For me being caught in the traffics is equivalent to a bad day in the office, so I'm staying out of the way as much as possible.
